CBSE

1. Curriculum & Teaching Methodology

SPPS follows an application based teaching methodology where the focus is more on practical training rather than just the theoretical concepts. It enriches the analytical skills of its students. Our school is committed to ensure delivery of high-quality and effective teaching & learning techniques.

The following methodologies are widely used in our school campus.
– Project Based Teaching Methodology
– Student Centric Learning Methodology
– Smart XSEED based Teaching for Pre-Primary

The XSEED program is an integrated curriculum, teacher training, and evaluation tool for Mont -1 to Grade 1 . The XSEED method substitutes an inquiry-based, constructivist method that employs hands-on activities, followed by reflection and feedback, for a knowledge-transmission or “teaching as telling” approach.

2. Co-Curricular Activities

We believe that co-curricular activities are an essential component of a well-rounded education. These activities provide students with opportunities to explore their interests, develop new skills, and build lasting relationships with their peers.

We offer a wide range of activities such as :

  1. Literary association, Art & Craft, Public Speaking, Debate, Elocution, Quiz.
  2. SPPS made Yoga, Dance, Music , Karate and Art & Craft compulsory for all Students as part of our school curriculum.
  3. Library hours are compulsory for all students.

3. Exam Pattern & PTM

SPPS strongly advocates the periodic evaluation and monitoring of student performance throughout the academic year to assess what students are learning in specified topics/subjects. This would suggest improvements in their studies to focus more on their academics and provide timely feedback. Exams are also a fantastic opportunity for teachers to learn more about their students because each student is unique.

Students are required to take 2 round tests and 2 semester examinations to be held throughout the academic year.

P.T.M : Class teachers would be conducting PTM within 2 weeks of the completion of the exam. Parents will receive adequate notice, and each student and parent will be provided a specific time slot for PTM. Each pupil will have a duration of at least 10 minutes. Parents will be informed of the PTM timetable via notes in their children’s school diaries/printouts/WhatsApp group of the class.

4. Psychology and Counselling :

At Philomenas, we believe in providing a holistic approach to education, which includes supporting the mental health and well-being of our students & teachers. We understand that students & teachers may face various challenges throughout their academic journey, Our counselling services cover a range of issues, including stress management, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and more. We are committed to providing them with the necessary support and resources to navigate these challenges.

5. Infirmary :

We understand the importance of student health and wellbeing. We have an infirmary room on campus that is staffed by an In-house licensed nurse during school hours. The infirmary room is equipped with basic medical supplies and equipment to provide first aid and basic medical care. We will get in touch with parents or guardians and make the necessary arrangements if a pupil needs more sophisticated medical attention. The infirmary room is an important part of our commitment to providing a safe and healthy learning environment for our students.
